Majestic and Long ago... This is a photo of the grandfather clock in the entryway of my grandparents' house in Grand Rapids. I have many memories associated with this clock, and it acts as a welcome into my grandparents' happy home. With every passing fifteen minutes, a welcoming bong echoes throughout the house. I remember when I was little, and I would visit my grandparents house and look up at the giant clock. The clock felt like a guard and protector over the house, not letting anything bad happen. I love this clock, for it looks so majestic and strong. It was a little tricky to get the angle right on the clock photos, so that there were no reflections in the photo. But, by finding the right angle, I was able to get the picture right. I am happy with how certain parts of the clock shines on these pictures, and how the gold detail shines. Purple, Bug's view, and Different Directions. These three photos are of a purple flower plant in a white vase. I love flowers, and I love the color purple. Another thing I enjoy about these photos is how the leaves add to the pictures. The tall arches and long lines along the middle add to the photos composition, by creating several points of interest other than the purple flower. Design and Pointillism. I made the rock in these photos last summer and I has a lot of meaning to me. Every summer our family visits a campgrounds on Lake Michigan, and it is one of my favorite places. I painted this rock there and it is a reminder of summer and fun. Leaf Forest and Lucky. These leaf pictures are of a large clover plant at my grandparents' house. While looking around for objects to photograph, I potted this plant. I found the leaves so interesting and the way they looked from all different angles. I decided to take the first picture from the perspective of a small object surrounded by a massive leaf forest. Spinning and Memories. These final photos in my object collection are of a picture holder full of photos of me and important people in my life. There are pictures of my brother, my cousins, my parents, and my friends. I love these pictures and they are associated with many memories fro when I was younger. I think the picture "Spinning." is really creative and displays an element of fun.
