Still Life 1: Rose Petals For this still life, I used a glass jar, a string bag, and dried flower petals. I positioned the petals in order to compliment the other object in the still life (bag or jar). I am really proud of how the photos turned out, and the different viewpoints I used. I especially like how the filters compliment the original image, such as in the photo "Still Petals." Still Life 2: Bookshelf The photos in the second still life are of the bookshelf in my bedroom. To create the picture I wanted, I reorganized the books and added a few objects to balance out the image. For example, I adjusted the string bookmarks on several books to add effect. I enjoy how the alarm clock lights have a different look in some photos rather than others. I love working with the artistic filters in photoshop, and I especially likes the "Neon Glow" filter. Still Life 3: Ikea Set-Ups Last weekend, my family went to Ikea, and I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to create still life photos. I photographed any set-up still lifes, but had to narrow them down to the four for this project. I took the photo "Coffee Table." in a model living room set-up, and the photo. Still Life 4: Sunglasses Party These still life photos were a lot of fun to make. I wanted to be creative funny with these pictures, and I enjoyed playing with accessories and bright colors. It was a little difficult to get the sunglasses to stay on the piggy banks, but it was worth the time in order to convey the fun effect. To add a pop of color to my pictures, I placed some "confetti" hearts around the scene. I am proud of how these photos look when finished with the filters on top. Still Life 5: Line of Pink I love color themes, and I thought it would be a god idea to create one for a still life. I gathered as many pink/red objects as I could find, and compiled them onto a white board, in order of size. It was tough to get the lighting right in these photos, and a special angle was needed so that the shadow of the camera wouldn't be in the photo. Another hard part was that not all the objects would stay in the right position, and it took time to get the rolling ones to stay put. I think it was worth the time though, and I love how the finished picture "Vintage Line." came out with a filter.
