Shadow: It took a lot of time and effort to get the photo "Perfume Glow" to turn out the way I intended it to. For most of my shadow photos I used an adjustable lamp, which allowed me to control the shadows and their lengths. For this photo, I took sheets of orange and yellow tissue paper and covered them over the lamp, creating the orange and yellow glow. It was difficult to get the shade of orange I was looking for, and to get the paper to stick to the light at the same time. Another obstacle was the position I held my camera at, for I did not want a reflection on the top of the perfume bottles. Overall, I am very happy with how the photo came out and how it gives off a calming yet fiery emotion. Reflection: The photo "In the pond" was taken at a small pond near the Huron river. I decided to take the photo at this pond, because I though it would make a nicer reflection than the moving river. When taking this photo, I wanted to get the trees reflections, as well as the sky and clouds, which I accomplished with this photo. I like how the tree trunks stand straight, with wavy, bending branches. While the algae on the pond's surface create some distraction, the reflections still are a focus of the photo. I find the tone of "In the pond" very soothing.
