Masks: I am very proud of all my mask photos, and I enjoyed the process of taking and editing them. My favorite mask photo is "red". The location of this photo is my backyard, taken at a patch of wood chips scattered with colorful leaves. I decided to highlight the small, bright red leaves because they were plentiful and added a pop of color to the final image. I had some difficulties with "red", including trying to get the angle of my camera parallel to the ground, and finding all the red leaves to edit in photoshop. Overall, I am very happy with how the photo turned out, and how the contrast between the different shapes and sizes is so great.
Symmetry: Of all my symmetry photos, I think that "patterned" is my strongest image. The photo is of many different patterned headbands lined up diagonally. To raise money for a missions trip, my cousin sold many of these colorful headbands, which I collect. I loved all the different designs shapes made when this image turned into a kaleidoscope. In order to take this photo, I had to set up the headbands in perfect rows diagonally, which was rather difficult. But I think the final image turned out wonderful and I am very happy with it. I am thankful I own so many of something that creates such unique photos.
